On the third season of “Britain’s Got Talent” more than ten years ago, Susan Boyle won the hearts of music fans all over the world.
Millions of people have watched the tape of her first audition, where she stood in front of Simon Cowell and sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables. She was shy and quiet, but her performance blew everyone away.
Now that “SuBo” has been out of the spotlight for more than ten years, she has changed a lot. She talks about why and how she did it.
Sue Boyle told the TV judges that she was unemployed and lived alone with her cat Pebbles. She later said that she had been picked on as a child and been given the wrong diagnosis of a learning disability.
2nd type of diabetes
She was an instant hit after her first audition for the TV show, and she went on to sell over 19 million songs around the world. Her first record, “I Dreamed a Dream,” sold more copies than any other debut album in UK history.
An article in the Daily Express says that Susan was told by her doctors that her Type 2 diabetes could make it hard for her to act live.

No longer eating cakes
Since she got the scary news, the Scottish singer, who still lives in the house she grew up in, has been cutting back on sugar and living a healthy life.
At the time, Susan told The Mirror, “I need to cut down on my candy and cakes.” It makes my life miserable.

Fans got a treat when the singing star went on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” in January of last year.
Fans heard her say, “I’m a champion for those who don’t have the courage to do things and don’t have a voice; the ones that people tend to ignore.” I think of myself as a fighter for them.
