In a devastating update, Martin Frizell, Fiona Phillips’ husband, commented on his wife’s battles with Alzheimer’s.

Three years ago, 64-year-old presenter Fiona received a diagnosis of the degenerative brain disease. After her parents fought the illness, she disclosed at the time how it had “ravaged” her family before saying, “And now it has come for me.”

The husband of Fiona Phillips provides a depressing update.

Martin Frizell, the former host of This Morning, paid a devastating Mother’s Day homage to his wife on Instagram on Sunday, March 30.

Martin shared a picture of Fiona with the camera four years ago, smiling and waving.

He captioned the photo, saying, “If Mother’s Day is difficult, you’re not alone.”

“Share the good times,” Martin continued. Fiona was like this four years ago, right before her symptoms appeared. It’s my favorite photo of a fantastic mother.

Fiona received the Mother of the Year award.

Fiona is the mother of two twentysomething sons, Nat and Mackenzie.

Martin also included a picture of the specially etched glass that Fiona got in 2007 as “Mum of the Year” in a follow-up post.

“This was more important in our house than any BAFTA, NTA, or RTS,” Martin wrote.

Fiona’s most recent autobiography

It was revealed in February that, despite her fight with Alzheimer’s, Fiona is writing a memoir.

Her husband Martin and her friend, journalist Allison Phillips, are assisting her in writing the book, which is titled Remember When.

The book’s rights have been purchased by Pan Macmillan, a publishing house in the United Kingdom. It is anticipated that Remember When will be available for purchase in July 2025.

According to the press release: “Remember Me is a gripping and poignant memoir as well as a book offering an important insight into life with a disease that will impact many of us,” written with Fiona’s signature honesty.
